Dreamfish mission and team

Dreamfish is a global work network, creating an open way to hire, be hired, manage projects, exchange value, and collaborate virtually. A member-operated work cooperative, our mission is to create a thriving world of work for millions of the world’s entrepreneurs and independents.

Realizing a really big dream, Dreamfish is unique as a work community. We get excited about figuring out how what we build helps to reduce global poverty and increase inclusiveness! Everyone is highly self-directed, smart, professional, and we work together extremely well as a team. Our members are diverse and include first time web users in emerging markets, seniors, disabled, as well as open source community and young workers. For more information on Dreamfish, see Dreamfish:GovernanceIs Dreamfish for you? and Dreamfish Timeline.

Championing the Community

We, dreamfish, come to this community because we each want to realize our own dreams. There will be millions of us in years to come, even though there are small handfuls of us now. Together, we share a dream for our community — We want a work community where we can bring our whole selves, where we are all welcome. We want a community where we can make a living for our selves and our families, while still having the flexibility and balance to have a life. Our community is a place where we can build skills, create social good and reduce our environmental footprints. Whereas the experience of most independents and startups can be isolating, our community can offer us feedback, nourishment and inspiration through peer learning, collaborative work, and a marketplace of a diverse open like-minded coworkers, mentors, and clients.

We experience Dreamfish as an empowering facilitator.  We learn it is up to each of us to reach out and ask, show up to groups and projects, practice, stretch, and exercise our use of self to make Dreamfish work for us. It works as we work it. And as each of us works, we learn to reflect on the value of our work and learn to realize the kinds of Value that we seek.  We learn that we do not dance our dreams through standing. We dance our dreams as we walk one step at a time. ‘
